KAUST’s Visiting Student Research Program accepts applications year-round for research placements lasting two to six months. Applicants select a specific project rather than submitting one general scholarship application.
Who can apply?
The programme is for third-year-or-later undergraduates and master’s students, with a minimum GPA of 3.5/4 or equivalent. Current PhD candidates, KAUST students and KAUST alumni are excluded. Recent graduates may qualify within the published one-year rule.
Funding and benefits
The published package includes USD 1,000 monthly support, a private bedroom/bathroom, return airfare and access to research facilities. There is no internship application fee.
How to apply and important dates
Browse the official active-project list, read the academic background required by a suitable project and use its Apply button. Only one application can be active at a time.
Documents and preparation
Prepare English transcripts, a faculty recommendation, passport with at least six months validity, statement of purpose and CV. Check the accepted English evidence and any permitted exemption.
Before you submit
Make a personal checklist from the official instructions. Check that your name matches your identity documents, that uploaded files are readable and that your referees have enough time. Save a copy of your submission and its confirmation. If the provider changes its announcement, follow its current instructions rather than an older listing.
Frequently asked question
Can I arrange a one-month placement?
No. KAUST lists a minimum of two months and maximum of six.
