EPFL has announced a revised deadline for its 2027 Master Excellence Fellowships. External applicants must use the first master’s application window and complete the paid, validated application by 15 December 2026.
Who can apply?
The award targets exceptionally strong master’s candidates. Applicants already holding a master’s degree or currently enrolled in an EPFL master’s programme are not eligible. Only one EPFL master’s programme application is allowed per year.
Funding and benefits
The published fellowship is CHF 10,000 per semester. Treat it as a grant rather than assuming an automatic tuition waiver or complete coverage of every expense. Renewal requires the stated academic progress, including 50 ECTS and a 5.0/6 average.
How to apply and important dates

Will the later master’s admission window still qualify for the fellowship?
No. EPFL says applications after the first-window deadline are assessed for admission without fellowship eligibility.
