TU Delft’s Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships support outstanding international students in regular two-year MSc programmes. The 2027 round closes on 1 December 2026 at 23:59 CET.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be conditionally admitted to an eligible regular MSc; international joint education programmes are excluded. Delft indicates performance around the top 10% as a guide to competitiveness, without requiring proof of ranking.
Funding and benefits
The award covers full applicable tuition and a contribution toward living expenses. Second-year scholarship allowances require sufficient progress, including at least 48 of 60 first-year ECTS. Other scholarship funding cannot be combined with this award.
How to apply and important dates
Complete the MSc application before the scholarship deadline. Upload the official scholarship form, reference letter and required English certificate, unless the published exemption applies.
Documents and preparation
Use the current scholarship form and your programme’s admission checklist. Delft accepts one reference letter; if supplying two, combine them into one PDF as instructed.
Before you submit
Make a personal checklist from the official instructions. Check that your name matches your identity documents, that uploaded files are readable and that your referees have enough time. Save a copy of your submission and its confirmation. If the provider changes its announcement, follow its current instructions rather than an older listing.
Frequently asked question
Can I submit the English test after the scholarship deadline?
Not unless an official exemption applies. Delft requires the test in the complete scholarship application file.
Official source and verification
