Maastricht University has announced 18 NL-High Potential scholarships for 2027/28. There is an early admission-file deadline as well as a later scholarship deadline: both matter.
Who can apply?
Applicants must meet the participating master’s admission requirements, relevant non-EU nationality restrictions and the age limit of 35 on 1 September 2027. The published academic threshold is at least 75%, 7.5/10 or 3/4. Previous degree study in the Netherlands can affect eligibility.
Funding and benefits
The award covers tuition, insurance, visa costs and pre-academic training. Living support is €20,150 for 13 months or €38,750 for 25 months. Air tickets and the stated cleaning fee are excluded.
How to apply and important dates
Submit a complete application to an eligible master’s programme by 10 December 2026. Use the UM student ID to complete the separate scholarship application by 1 February 2027, 23:59 CET. The date panel uses the earlier admission-file deadline to avoid missing this prerequisite.
Documents and preparation
Use the scholarship page’s current document list and templates, including academic evidence, CV, motivation and reference requirements. Check accommodation conditions before accepting.
Before you submit
Make a personal checklist from the official instructions. Check that your name matches your identity documents, that uploaded files are readable and that your referees have enough time. Save a copy of your submission and its confirmation. If the provider changes its announcement, follow its current instructions rather than an older listing.
Frequently asked question
Can I wait until February to apply for admission?
